The Orchish Empire engaged in this conflict in a bid to seize control of the prosperous mines of Branchard and Gudrall. Securing Branchard, situated north of Lake Thurveleg, proved a far simpler endeavor. However, the mines of Gudrall, with their ancient and extensive workings, were safeguarded by the city-state of Dumugon, leading the Orchish Empire to launch its first large-scale amphibious assault.

Far from their homeland, the Orcish Empire employed a distinct strategy compared to previous conflicts, steadily eroding their adversaries through maneuver and economic measures. Primarily engaging the Toomrur interests, the Orcish Empire contended with a people accustomed to combat. For the Toomrur, conflict precipitated significant change, ushering in new Ogre Lords and a broad distribution of wealth and slaves.

From the side of the Toomrur, the combat was predominantly carried out by the army of Dumugon. In the third year of the war, Gúra, a long-standing commercial rival of Dumugon, resorted to financing the defenders. In the fourth year of the conflict, the army of Khatúlg joined the defense of Toomrur territory.

The Toomrur were supported by smaller groups, including Bile mercenary generals and specialized units supplied by the Savagor, which consisted of skullcrusher ogres and war trolls.

In 1511, the war proving too costly, the Ageless Emperor initiated peace overtures. The Morbakh Ceasefire, in actuality a comprehensive peace treaty, was signed on 4 Temporal 1511. The principal signatories to this agreement were the Ageless Emperor and the Ogre Lord Morbakh. As a provision of the treaty, the Orchish Empire relinquished all territorial claims to the region.
