Khatúlg was established during the First Epoch by Toomrur soldiers serving under an Ogre Lord known as Jidekai. Constructed upon the ancestral lands and hunting territories of Gorkith's hobgoblins, the city introduced civilization and unusual statutes to the indigenous populace, though it remained under perpetual menace.
By the Second Epoch, Khatúlg had become a formidable city-state situated in eastern Grashakh. The challenges stemming from the highlands, north of the city's sturdy wooden and vine-covered walls, were largely mitigated through the forced relocation of the hobgoblins to the Dargirth floodplains.
In 1484, having grown corpulent and enervated from the machinations of the commercially-oriented clans, Khatúlg succumbed to a youthful belligerent known as Morbakh.
In the year 1834, Khatúlg was conquered by the Tormoran Federation. Similar to the fate of the hobgoblins during the Second Epoch, the Toomrur were now compelled to seek out new settlements along the eastern shores of the Viiz Bo.
