Type cultural lore of the Toomrur

The term Ogre Lord emerged to describe esteemed Toomrur commanders occupying the central to eastern regions of Thingrorn, extending eastward to the shores of Klo'nah Lomok.

In Toomrur society, certain individuals are chosen to embark on the arduous path toward becoming an Ogre Lord. Natural-born leaders, selected by the tribal elders, are dispatched to the ancient training grounds known as the Halls of War. The journey to these esteemed facilities is no easy feat. However, the rigorous schooling does not suit all aspirants, who instead opt to claim the Ogre Lord title through conquest.

Since the establishment of Gura in 1675 HE, it has been a longstanding tradition that deceased Ogre Lords, regardless of their prior affiliations or actions, are interred within the intricate burial mounds of Mauhúlfúr.

When the Toomrur Hegemony was founded, the government undertook efforts to supplant the warrior tradition of its Toomrur tribes. A venerable two-thousand-year old practice of pledging loyalty to their Ogre Lords was superseded by a centralized state apparatus. Ogre Lords were relegated, with generals now answering to the empire's government leaders. Evidently, a lingering issue within the Toomrur Hegemony is the longing for the bygone era, war bands, pillaging, conquest, and grandeur, as well as the archaic burial customs for their Ogre Lords.
