In 1301, Agdúm obtained the Hoof of Gluttony. He wielded it during the conflicts with the hobgoblins of Gorkith. In the third month of 1303, Agdúm underwent a drastic transformation due to his unrestrained consumption, growing obese and neglecting his responsibilities as the leader of nine ogre tribes. Because Agdúm had grown lethargic in battle and was caught consuming fallen comrades, his lieutenants could no longer tolerate his behavior and ultimately eliminated him.
The Ogre Lord Agdúm was interred with ceremony in one of the numerous barrows of Mauhúlfúr. A council of shamans declared that the accursed weapon was the cause of his downfall, and that his recent dereliction of duty should be expunged from the record and consigned to oblivion. Instead, he should be memorialized as a formidable warmonger and commander.
