Hlaeust is a volcanic wasteland constantly reshaped by the active Knis-Leir volcano. This fiery peak frequently erupts, blanketing the region in ash, debris, and molten lava flows.
The Orgerd thoroughfare meanders through this desolate landscape, leading northeast towards Harknori and southwest to Gird. This route represents the swiftest and most secure means of traversing the region. The road is elevated above the more perilous areas, yet gas vents and other hazards still linger in close proximity. Ominous rumblings from the earth often signal the impending eruption of scalding water geysers or noxious, potentially toxic vapors.
Hlaeust is the domain of flame snakes, fire trolls, cinder swarms, conflagration oozes, and other dreadful entities. Occasionally, humanoid explorers can be observed within the lava fields of Hlaeust. These intrepid individuals risk the perils of this region in pursuit of gemstones and raw blutium ejected from Knis-Leir or transported by its molten flows.
