Mizagûm was one of the Underdark strongholds that safeguarded the underside of the surface city Khaleddagun. During the 1826 Siege of Khaleddagun, the city fell. After securing their prize, the Drachdekai Pact turned to fortifying the surrounding surface areas and the Underdark strongholds below. There were numerous small forts and a few substantial fortresses, some serving as both mining depots and military bastions. These mines harbored rich iron ore veins, with one of the largest deposits supplying the Clan Region. Mizagûm is the sole bastion that withstood the invaders. As a result of the Siege of Khaleddagun, a battle in the Fifth Suellk Invasion, Mizagûm has evolved from a simple outpost into a formidable citadel. The defenses of this place are most robust where they intersect with those of Gamazûd.
The military units originating from Mizagûm utilize a "smoking pipe" as their emblematic insignia.
