Drachdekai is the elder brain leader of the Suellk Empire. After a prolonged period of intelligence gathering on Brucrumus, he concluded that his empire lacked the necessary strength to undertake an invasion independently with the aim of expanding their thrall population. Consequently, Suellk emissaries journeyed to Cryphoeca, forging a military pact with Arachnidion. The neogi of this empire, also grappling with the challenges of an over-hunted world, eagerly agreed to the conquest, as well as the prospect of a new source of food and slaves.

In the year 1824, they commenced their invasion of the realm Bal-Kriav via the Hollow of Sargos. Through this spatial gateway, an armada of Suelk and Arachnidion voidships emerged, descending upon distant locales and initiating the Fifth Suellk Invasion.

Later that year, the Drachdekai Pact welcomed the Ba'lith Empire. This empire of the world Bal-Kriav joined with promises of voidships and related technology. The most coveted Suellk technology was the ability to link multiple engines. This was invaluable for skyships, as it provided a backup in case an engine was lost or failed in battle, preventing the entire ship from plummeting to the ground from a well-placed shot.

Ba'lith 's decision to join this pact was made by Emperor Raxcvillibus Dumu-loc. His motivations were primarily personal, driven by a desire for renown on the world stage. Another factor behind his interest in joining this triad were the potential targets. One such target was the city of Isumbras. Raxcvillibus believed that if he could capture this city, he could exert pressure on Bueratum. The rulers of this city-state had long refused to allow Raxcvillibus's private companies to trade on the Mercantile Exchange. Bueratum had a valid reason for this policy, as the Exchange's laws prohibit the leaders of empires from simultaneously running private companies, due to the potential conflict of interest when an empire's military can be used to further the interests of these quasi-public companies.
