In 1702, the Deep Six merchant vessel Ale Barge detected an anomaly within the Belt of Geb. The discovery was a colossal rock, spanning three miles in diameter, with a cavernous interior measuring a mile across. This remarkable formation appeared almost as if it had been meticulously excavated by hand. Upon closer inspection, the ship's captain dutifully recorded the findings in the vessel's logbook.
The hollow is a tumultuous void, akin to gazing into the celestial expanse and perceiving the stars in a gradual vortex.
Sargos, captain of the Ale Barge - "Ship Log, 13 Witchrite 1702"
Sargos carefully documented the location of this discovery, even designating it as the Hollow of Sargos. This captain intended to sell this information, but during his return voyage to Citho-Cûr, he and his ship were captured by a Green Orb Weaver operating under the banner of the Arachnidion Empire. The finding of the Hollow of Sargos was never acted upon and seemingly faded into obscurity, lost amidst the countless scrolls and messages in the vaults that spoke of peculiar occurrences and happenings within the Void.
In 1750, a spy in service to the Suellk Empire, a neogi embedded within Arachnidion's Alien Affairs division, uncovered information regarding the Hollow of Sargos. Half a century later, in 1802, Arachnidion finally acted upon Captain Sargos's discoveries. Upon arrival at the Hollow of Sargos, they found it occupied by the Suellk. A two-year conflict for control ensued, culminating in both sides agreeing to share the site's use. Collaboratively, they then gathered the necessary resources and void engines to power it up.
On 5 Lunar 1824, Arachnidion and the Suellk, allies of the Drachdekai Pact, activated an ancient rift-making device, providing instantaneous transport to a connected world. Suellk voidships began traversing distances that would typically require many months, with the journey to the Hollow of Sargos taking mere minutes. Dialed into Osâchar, the Suellk homeworld, the invaders departed their home system Asteraoth, passed through a rift to the Hollow of Sargos, and emerged in the Quara'tun System. There, they joined Arachnidion's armada, thus commencing the Fifth Suellk Invasion.
The Hollow of Sargos is powered by two dozen energy converters.
