Murk is a gloomy, profound, and sluggishly flowing expanse of water. Countless tributaries replenish this mighty river. The Murk originates from the glaciers and snow-capped summits of the southeastern tracts of Elephant Backbone. After cascading down these towering peaks, the water coalesces into streams and rivulets that converge into the Murk. This formidable river meanders across Weretopia and then southward through the untamed wilderness of Straiden.
In the eastern regions of Weretopia, the Murk serves as the hunting grounds for packs of werewolves. They conceal themselves along the river, stalking their prey, and occasionally swim across to hunt the humanoids residing in Pipe Home. Many of these werewolves maintain some level of allegiance to the governance of Kudyast.
The dangers of the Murk are not confined to its shoreline. Lurking within its murky depths are sirines, green hags, and other predatory denizens. The most perilous predators of the river are the dread linnorms. Outside of Regadnîn, these two-headed dragons are perhaps the mightiest creatures in the region.
