The vast Okaaz Storn, a colossal chasm spanning seven miles across, lies in the northeastern expanse of the Sands of Hell. Descending 2200 feet into the Underdark region of Miryeril, the shifting sands have gradually fallen into this immense depression, eventually forming an island within. Remarkably, this island, technically situated in the Underdark, is surrounded by the oceanic waters of a subterranean portion of Erethor.
The slopes of Okaaz Storn are peppered with caverns and tunnels, some of which extend into the Underdark. Certain regions function as the abodes of wyverns, rocs, dragons, and other far-ranging creatures. During feeding periods, they either soar up Okaaz Storn to the surface to hunt or stalk the subsurface channel Ilimys-Erethor Cut.
