The Pit of the Light Reaper is a roughly 250-foot diameter shaft blasted by magic and quarried by toil. Descending from Phanaca's courtyard at angles favoring those on the wing, the approximately one-mile long shaft terminates at the cavern roof of a subterranean lava lake known as Darg Laug.
Taking almost five decades to construct, the completion of this monumental structure significantly diminished the internal pressure of the nearby volcano Tyf Badikar. Now much less volatile and cooler, the region's fiery inhabitants were greatly incensed.
The Pit of the Light Reaper was constructed as part of an agreement between a mighty dragon named Kun Sahvoz and the devoted dragon cultists of Vulon Viing. The dragon sought retribution against the ferocious brutes of Tyf Badikar and its molten lake; those who had maimed his wings. In exchange for their efforts in crafting the shaft, the dragon cultists obtained Kun Sahvoz's blessing to transform him into a fearsome dracolich.
