Captain Smicker was a notorious pirate of the Second Epoch. He and his band of pirates had numerous camps, hideouts, and moorings around the Harpoon Sisters. After three decades of terrorizing the high seas and executing daring raids against coastal towns from Brucrumus to Karterus, he decided to retire to the area and transform his largest settlement into a free hold. This ensured that it was open to commerce and offered protection from piracy for twenty miles in all directions. His town, Smicker's Lot, grew in both population and commercial activity. For the next two centuries, it served as the principal commercial hub for the central islands of the Buccaneer Archipelago. The town's success made it a rival of Zerot and a raiding target for the T'kyr.

Smicker's Lot is situated on the southern extremity of the curiously named Smicker's Fjord. The town was constructed on the island of Kitho-Kir, with its harbor oriented westward towards Hînad-Hloph. In 1448, the settlement was overrun by raiders from T'kyr. Persistent rumors suggest that Jaqad Gyalech, the founder of Zerot, assisted the T'kyr in vanquishing a rival.

The ravaged Smicker's Lot was never reconstructed following the catastrophic raid, instead transforming into a cursed domain harboring malevolence and sinister undertakings. The ruins and surrounding channel perpetually shrouded in an eerie mist, permeated by the anguished cries of those slain during the three days and nights of pillaging and massacre in 1448. Many derelict vessels remain moored in the harbor, most submerged and decayed with age, while others are more recent arrivals, the final trace of ill-fated individuals seeking easy spoils. Mariners commenced designating the location as Smicker's Lost, and after three decades, pirate charts had omitted the original appellation.

The ruins and surrounding areas serve as the dwelling place of sea hags, water naga, undead, and a myriad of other malevolent creatures that lurk either in the harbor's waters or amid the overgrown debris.
