The Tániel river emanates from Galathien, traversing past Baurwen and then down the Iraktharbhun valley until culminating in the Pearl Sea. It is an expansive river, spanning anywhere from one mile to five miles across with a lush delta at both extremities.

Along the southern part of the river are Turkûn settlements of Bokgruma. The northern portion of the river has remained uninhabited for as long as anyone can recall. This is due to the threat posed on the western banks by perilous plants lurking in Baurwen. The upper northeast side of the river runs alongside the mountain cliff walls of Arbhundûl and has long been home to unfriendly mountain giants. These giants, descendants of soldiers that served the primordials in the Creation War, have battled every power that has ever sought to lay claim to the riverside cliffs.

The river flows at a leisurely pace and extends nearly half a mile in width upon reaching Pixit. Instances of piracy are more prevalent in the southern segment of the waterway.
