The Thongath is a lush jungle occupying the southernmost reaches of the Aerie of Dragons, extending into the distant islands beyond. This verdant domain harbors numerous perils, chief among them the cannibalistic troops of blood apes that roam the mainland. Furthermore, near the marshlands, one encounters the ancient settlements of the Yuan-ti and the imposing ruins of great sacrificial ziggurats.
The trade flowing down the Ice Drain predominantly passes through the marshlands of Thongath before reaching the venerable city of Sarengrorn. Once the capital of a succession of yuan-ti empires, the city has since devolved into a corrupt city-state, a den rife with debauchery and criminal enterprise.
