Vector GG-4 is one of the water siphons created by Sathubas's aboleth. Similar to many other regions in the area, it was designed to channel water from Imgangreth to the Sathubas region beneath it. GG-4 denotes the fourth shaft of sectors Garathral and Gúrz. During the Lith-Crillion Era, the water flowing into it was merely a small stream draining south from the location known as Nym-Zoedine. As this area became the epicenter of a primordial artifact, transforming into a vast glacier stretching from the surface deep into the Underdark, the meltoff formed the river Zoedine Tears. The increased flow significantly widened what was once a cavern crack, turning it into a massive cavity descending thousands of feet into another region. Fihrmorta's engineers had designed the construction of Vector GG-4 and other water siphons to accommodate adverse changes in water flow. Their objective was to mask the sound of downward-flowing water, keep the siphons as covert as possible, and prevent excessive erosion. Nonetheless, the creation of Nym-Zoedine exceeded Fihrmorta's engineers' planning. The Zoedine Tears slowly carved out the series of shafts below it, spreading out over several square miles along meandering channels. The shafts eroded, transforming into grand waterfalls. The surrounding areas were widened by the water, becoming increasingly abundant with Underdark wildlife, mushrooms, fungi, and other flora. These falls are now surrounded by water-filled grottoes, caves, and passages in all directions.
Vector GG-4 was initially intended to be a substantial fissure, draining a stream that seemed to captivate no one. However, the demonic glacier altered this landscape. The crack transformed into a chasm, and the stream evolved into a river. Long after the water table had met our objectives, GG-4 became a habitat for beasts, monsters, and humanoids. There is a certain allure to the area; the vegetation grows in abundance, insects swarm, and moss carpets the ground. Perhaps it is the area's wetness or the serenity of the falls that accounts for this phenomenon. Regardless of the cause, the passages along GG-4 became a route linking Imgangreth and Sathubas. Roads foster commerce, but also attract bandits, monsters, and beasts seeking easy and routine prey.
