Nym-Zoedine is a vast unnatural glacier occupying one of Olmi Hjark's expansive vales. This immense glacier covers a substantial surface area, with an even more expansive subterranean presence beneath the Underdark. The glacier was created by a conclave of Glangveif warlocks, who harnessed the soul energy of a thousand enslaved individuals to power the primordial artifact Onaidred's Quill. On 4 Bloom 1648 HE, this ancient device was activated against an army of 8,000 hobgoblins led by the half-devil war maiden Zoedine of Dispater's Concubines. The artifact froze the entire army in ice and transformed the surrounding land into a vast, snowy expanse akin to a glacier, entombing Onaidred's Quill within the icy mass. Attempts to locate the artifact have thus far proven unsuccessful, as the area within hundreds of feet of its resting place is said to be bitterly frigid, defying even the most resilient of cold-weather defenses.

The Nym-Zoedine ice formation covers an extensive surface area of approximately 7,800 square miles. However, the frozen expanse beneath is substantially larger, descending for thousands of feet and filling vast caverns with ice and bitter cold. On the surface, the northern territories of this glacial landmass are claimed by the Bazandaggûl. Meanwhile, portions of the subterranean glacier are controlled by the city of Sodlund.
