The sprawling city of Tholamid towers above the petrified remains of a colossal aberration, constructed during the Horgon Era by the Glangveif. This primordial monstrosity, named Onaidred, was a serpentine creature with numerous quills and bony ridges lining its entire form. It ravaged parts of the continent of Brucrumus during the cataclysmic Creation War.

Be cautious of Onaidred's quills. They possess the power to freeze anything they touch, rendering even stone brittle and prone to shattering upon a firm strike. Today's sacrifices will be for the greater good of Sphere 411 and the noble spirits that shall come to reside here when we depart.

Set, to those preparing to engage Onaidred - "Onaidred Speech"

Onaidred was a solitary figure, not beholden to any Primordial Lord, yet still driven to destroy everything in his path. The Nawirrûs Covenant tasked Set and his team with dispatching the foe. At the time, Set was but an astral deva serving under Bal-Kriav. His plan involved having those under his command lure the beast into a mountain pass, where it proved challenging for the creature to fight against those attacking from higher ground. When Onaidred perished, its flesh and organs decayed, leaving behind a superstructure of bone-white ice that is as hard as adamantine and still bitterly cold to the touch. Onaidred's Quill, an artifact created by Set and responsible for the creation of Nym-Zoedine, was fashioned from one of the slain monster's quills. In the Horgon Era, the frost giant bastion Tholamid was constructed within and around Onaidred's remains. Since that time, Onaidred's Remains have been utilized to forge ice and frost-based magic items.

Tholamid's northern bulwark, overlooking the slopes of Olmi Hjark, stands as a solemn monument dedicated to the celestial warriors who perished in the struggle against Onaidred. This impregnable structure, fortified by divine enchantments, is tirelessly guarded by frost giants and their subordinates. Yet, any attempt to build upon it is thwarted, for such additions would incur the same perilous consequences as being pierced by Onaidred's venomous quills.

When the city of Glangveif fell in the Year 31, some of its residents who escaped the wrath of the fire giants made their way south from Haugald and settled here. The frost giants who now inhabit this region are far less refined than their Titan Empire ancestors. In addition to the giants, the area is home to ice trolls, Thrallrir, and other creatures adapted to the frigid climate.
