Chaos Aberration

Type 214 Chaos Aberration
Category Races
Type aberration
Language Primordial
Native Bal-Kriav, Chaos, Limbo

Chaos aberrations manifest in a multitude of variations in terms of shape, size, and color. They are denizens of the Chaos, with any such entities in other realms being a product of an open rift. Unless led by a Primordial Lord or other powerful figure, chaos aberrations generally cannot endure for long outside of the Chaos. The truly chaotic ones often meet their demise through their own unpredictability or succumb to starvation, disease, or other causes.

The movement of these creatures varies by individual, but they have been classified as walkers, crawlers, rollers, sliders, hoppers, rift-hoppers, and flyers; and some possess the capability to perform several of these types of movements.

Chaos Behemoth

The army of Neeth-Theen fields fearsome creatures known as chaos behemoths. These monstrous juggernauts of flesh, bone, and blood trigger the entropic metamorphosis that befalls regions they occupy. Over several weeks, as they wander the land, they infuse it with the unpredictable energies of raw Chaos. This warps the terrain into bizarre formations, with objects and structures witnessed hovering in the air unscathed, while others twist and contort, defying the principles of physics and conventional science. This phenomenon is not of magical origin. Most scholars regard these Chaos-tainted ruins as reflections of the primal essence of Chaos itself, rather than manifestations of this world.

Escorts

Three slimy entities serve as his escorts, clusters of knotted flesh adorned with numerous elongated tentacles which they employ to propel themselves forward. They advance at a remarkable pace, pausing periodically to allow their visitor to catch up. Intermittently, a pseudopod will extend to resemble a human arm, beckoning their often-distracted visitor onward. They sense something peculiar about him, an anomaly that does not align with their natural order, and thus they surmise he must be an agent of Law.

Messengers

Chenlock is escorted to the general by a three-foot orb of sickly yellow flesh devoid of visible eyes. This entity is one of Chaos's airborne aberrations. It levitates via a pair of leathery bat-like wings. Its species possess no offensive capabilities, having been crafted by agents of Chaos to serve as couriers and transport supplies. Despite their delicate appearance, they exhibit impressive strength.

Spotters

A chaos aberration, twice the size and roughly the shape of a giraffe, with not one head but three, surveys the battlefield and the surrounding lands. Towering at thirty feet, it is a vulnerable target, thus positioned at the rear of the army. One head gazes towards the keep, vigilantly searching for threats akin to the barrel of an artillery piece or concealed by magic. The remaining two heads scan eastward, westward, and occasionally rearward.

This creature is one of eleven that serve as spotters, the vigilant eyes of Anutrax's Army of Chaos. Peering southeastward, the three-headed giraffe emits a pair of sharp barks.
