In the Lith-Crillion Era, this valley became the home of stone giants descended from the armies of Geb and Hettar. Veterans of the Demon Spawn War (89 GE - 269 GE), they named the area Hleittil after a giantess of thirty sons and daughters. These scions of Hleittil Gadstill and their descendants went on to become notable figures, including high priests, bankers, master stonemasons acclaimed even by Geb, heroes, scholars, kings and queens, and less reputable types that instilled a sense of mystique in the Gadstill name.
Under the Gadstill Dynasty (275 HE - 1533 HE), the valley served as the cradle of civilization for an expansive stone giant empire. The valley functioned as the empire's breadbasket, dotted with farms, while the hills and peaks formed a maze of goat trails. Prosperous and long-lasting, the Gadstill Dynasty left behind a legacy of hundreds of towers, mountain retreats, and fortified strongholds. With the fall of the Gadstills, the valley descended into lawlessness, as petty warlords reduced a millennium's worth of progress to ruin.
On 25 Saunas 1296, agents of Mutation, on the banks of the valley's central lake, opened the Sink of Chaos. This, in turn, unleashed an unnatural storm trapped within the Weave, a Chaos Maelstrom, which flooded the land and its inhabitants with entropic energy. Warped and chaos-infused, Hleittil became a deformed landscape with misshapen mountains and strange occurrences that defy the natural order of the world around.
Natives of Hleittil encompass chaos aberrations, the Mamorian populace, and additional entities prone to entropic influences.
Hleittil is a Focus for Entropic Energy.
