Built by the Gadstill Dynasty (275 HE - 1533 HE), the city of Bor lies on the southern shores of Lake Fjorgeir. Situated near the center of a vast valley, downstream from windmills and industry, and goat ranches under the watchful eye of stone giants, Bor became a central marketplace for the peoples of Hleittil. Strategically positioned, the city guarded the lake, a vital waterway for those traveling upstream or downstream, and secured the roads leading to the gold mines of Nalbirag.

After the collapse of the Gadstill Dynasty in 1533 HE, Bor became a short-lived city-state. In 1535 HE, racked with turmoil over the former hierarchy of stone giants, lacking the resources of an empire, and with a shattered economy, Bor was primed for pruning. This came in the form of the restless natives of Cimirnar, former "citizens" of the empire, now plundering its downfall. Following a six-month siege, the city surrendered. Those with the means purchased their freedom, while the rest were sent in chains westward towards the mines of Nalbirag. Bor was left in ruin, a haven for wandering beasts and monsters.

The Goliath warlord Tharag-Turgûn utilized Bor as a base and marketplace for the plunder gained through raiding and warfare in 1151. When he established the Neeth-Theen empire in 1177, Bor was designated as the capital city.
