The kenku were conceived in the Abyssal Release (7777 DE - 8777 DE). In this conflict, demons of Piranoth's Steps fought to throw off the yoke of their primordial masters. Like the demons corrupted by the Threads of Damnation, the kenku were tainted in their eggs. Upon hatching, they took up service with their primordial mother, Mastyxe, who was also corrupted and changed by the abyssal energies surging across Piranoth's worlds. Some kenku escaped Piranoth's Steps, fleeing to the Mortal Systems and ending up on worlds like Bal-Kriav. Regrettably, the kenku who remained behind were eventually eradicated by the demons.
Across the majority of realms, the overall kenku population remains meager. This circumstance stems from their feeble reproductive capacity, their tainted provenance, and the dynamics of their community. Predominantly wicked in nature, they perceive their own kind as potential rivals; nonetheless, a sufficient number possess the prudence to prevent their species from vanishing into oblivion.
