Sonarg is a region characterized by an abundance of expansive lakes and dense forests. The forests have long served as the domain of reclusive, distrustful elves and treacherous flora. The lakes teem with a wealth of fish, yet also harbor deadly serpents and other perilous entities.
In the Lith-Crillion Era, this region was settled by the Githzerai. During the First Suellk Invasion (135 HE - 150 HE), the githzerai were subjugated by the illithids. Consequently, this land became territory of the Suellk.
