The lustrous lapis ice is discovered deep within the expansive glacial fields north of Cinazan, in a region known as Ice Cap. Many inhabitants of that territory employ the material for weaponry, ornamentations, and various other applications. Although the instruments crafted from lapis ice often possess a rugged appearance, their edges are exceptionally sharp, boasting a layered sharpness akin to jagged shards of glass stacked in succession.
Lapis Ice is a cerulean ice discovered solely beneath the glaciers of Ice Cap. It endures immense pressure from the towering glacier above and is imbued with the rivulets of arcane energy that course through the region. The infusion of magic within this azure ice originates from the very same mystical energy permeating all of Ice Cap, stemming ultimately from the magical emanations of the Cube of Arcane.
Lapis ice is exceedingly arduous to obtain. This precious material is situated at the furthest reaches of Ice Cap's glaciers. The most accessible locations are where Ice Cap experiences melting or by excavating towards it from the Underdark.
The traces of magical energy and pressure cause the ice to compact and become as hard as a gemstone. Lapis Ice has demonstrated remarkable utility for crafting devices to contain magic, such as the tips of rods, staffs, and wands.
