Krephus Plate is a slice of petrified skin taken from the primordial Krephus. This material is lightweight, as hard as lava stone, and exceptionally rare. Skilled armor and weapon makers of Ice Cap and the Underdark region Badmaer have utilized Krephus Plates to craft remarkable items. However, when Isan-Kun secured the Krephus Passage, access to this precious resource became nearly impossible. This is because Vogelak's deep gnomes regard the Krephus Passage, and the portion containing Krephus's remains, as sacred. Occasionally, so-called poaching of Krephus's petrified remnants occurs, or enterprising miners find a way to excavate it from the side and extract a few slices. If caught engaging in either activity, the perpetrators face a dire fate in Isan-Kun, often ending up in the belly of a purple worm.
Weapons and armor crafted from Krephus Plate possess the strength and resilience of iron, yet weigh merely half as much.
