In the Year 170, Empress Loreah, the hobgoblin leader of the Draguron Empire, advanced northward into territories claimed by the city-state of Hel. As a military dictator, Loreah disregarded the idea of appeasing her enemies and sowing discord, opting for the direct application of force. She aspired to establish a true empire, one that would be accountable to a central authority in all matters, and to eliminate the reliance on bribery and diplomatic overtures to secure the frontier. Her targets included places like Hel and Vigring, as well as numerous smaller settlements.
The Draguron Empire initially achieved remarkable success, doubling its sphere of influence within the first few years. However, this rapid expansion soon met with growing resistance as an increasing number joined the Ice Brother's Pact. By 185, the empire had been economically crippled, its capital city engulfed in flames, and its empress deceased. Utterly defeated, the Draguron Empire had no choice but to sue for peace and sign the Peace of Moth, effectively dismantling a four-century-old empire.
