Built as part of an early warning system for chaos abominations emerging from Yagolorn, Briltarn safeguarded a people striving to recover. These were Theegans endeavoring to reconstruct a civilization decimated by the downfall of Ak'mrîtun (872 HE - 49). In the Northern Hordelands, they confronted marauding Jara to the north and large bands of gnolls east of the Plains of Tadab-Hal.

After they learned to guide Yagolorn's terrors northwards into the Jara domain, Briltarn blossomed into a thriving settlement. Drawn by the prospect of amassing wealth through scavenging Yagolorn for its cache of crystals, raw ore, gems, and peculiarities brought in by the chaotic storms, people flocked to this area bordering a wasteland infused with the energies of Chaos.

Whenever an anomaly transpires in Yagolorn, something is left in its wake. The rift to Chaos closes autonomously or, as the witches claim, is mended by the spiders of the weave. Thereafter, the scavengers emerge en masse, with many departing the Entropic Gates of Briltarn to seek their fortune. While they may prove fortunate, those courageous enough to camp in the wastes possess a superior prospect of making a discovery - though they must then possess the fortitude to safeguard it from any unscrupulous scavenger aware that a single lucrative find could sustain his family for a year, or provide a few months of indulgence with high-class courtesans.

Nalunnâth, the self-proclaimed Master Scavenger of Briltarn, presents "Treasures of Yagolorn."

The process of enticing monstrous abominations northward into the lands of your adversary is not foolproof. Occasionally, the beasts themselves are too cunning to be deceived. Briltarn has suffered from these more intelligent specimens, reduced to ruin five times before they could construct their grand walls. The ancient ruins are scattered throughout the city, left purposefully as impediments to Jara raids. These areas of debris, the Yagolorn Teeth, also serve to impede any behemoth that may crawl or trample out of Yagolorn.

Briltarn is a holding of the Witch Horde. Due to its close proximity to the vast plains of Arnandab and Tadab-Hal, it has evolved into a training epicenter for horseback riding and equine management. The region boasts the highest concentration of horse breaking and animal husbandry facilities across all of Brucrumus.
