Yagolorn is a blasted landscape permeated by the dynamic energy of Chaos. Plagued with bizarre occurrences, fiery fissures erupting far from the ground, unpredictable swirls of fire, water, or churning rock dancing erratically across the wasteland, and a myriad of other unnatural phenomena. For travelers, the most perilous anomaly to encounter are tornadoes of flame. Some of these chaotic infusions become permanent features of the area, detached motes of earth, water, fire, or air.
In the Year 60, the Theegans along the border of this region constructed the tower of Briltarn. This structure was built as an early warning system against the dangers emerging from Yagolorn. The Theegans, a people seeking restoration, blamed the gnolls for the aberrations and abominations that persistently infiltrated Theegan lands. However, upon discovering the true reason - that the gnolls had been luring the monsters away from their own territories through speed and cunning - the two sides reached an accord. They would collaborate to draw the area's more perilous adversaries northward into the plains of an even more formidable foe, the Jara.
Near the heart of Yagolorn stands a petrified arm of immense proportions. Resembling flayed flesh from afar, this 200-foot-long appendage is adorned with long, iron-like hairs. Resistant to both magic and weapons, these hairs cannot be severed, and none have ever been removed. This once belonged to Krerax, a mighty Primordial warlord from the Creation War, a devastating conflict that spanned from 1486 DE to 8777 DE. Another battle in this war left behind three great sinkholes. When Ares slew the abominable centipede Morebhox, the acidic blood of the dying creature burned deep holes, earning the name Cysts of Morebhox.
