In the Demon Spawn War, the Walking Palm army was a contingent of treants serving under a Covenant archangel named Silvanus.
In one of the battles of the Tha'lith Front, the Walking Palm army confronted a demon horde that greatly outnumbered their own forces. Silvanus requested volunteers from the Treant race to serve as a living stockade, rooting themselves to the ground and becoming petrified by spells to transform their trunks, limbs, and branches into stone-like hardness. This petrified treant stockade saved the Walking Palm army from annihilation, though many of these selfless volunteers perished in the process. This was because the ferocity of the battle resulted in much of the stockade being reduced to rubble - un-petrifying something that is only partially intact is fatal to most creatures, including plant-life like treants. A few months after this pivotal engagement, Asmodeus ordered a fortified bastion constructed at this site to safeguard the petrified wood. The formidable fortifications of Leza-Sîk now stand among these petrified timbers.
