The Flayer Occupation was a 1400-year period when the Githyanki and Githzerai were enslaved by the Illithid empire of Suellk. It began at the end of the First Suellk Invasion (135 HE - 150 HE), when the Illithid had completed their subjugation of Ghífthauk. The Flayer Occupation concluded with the Incarsabec Rebellion (1531 HE - 1544 HE), during which the slaves of Ghífthauk and its two moons rose up in defiance. This rebellion led to the freedom of the Githyanki and Githzerai, either through death or escape. The Suellk empire suffered greatly from this civil war and would not pose a threat to other worlds and peoples for an extended period afterward.
