Nargontou Branda served as the Syndic of Internal Affairs for the Council of Nine from 1295 to 1392. During his lengthy tenure, he oversaw the day-to-day operations and internal policies of the governing body. Branda's extensive experience and expertise in administrative affairs made him a valuable asset to the Council throughout the Second Epoch.
On 19 Kindle 1392, a daring band of roguish intruders breached the Palace of Nine. After pilfering tomes and ancient scrolls from Nargontou's quarters, they fled into the palace catacombs. Nargontou, alerted by a magical alarm, pursued the thieves. He slew six of the seven robbers, perishing in combat with the last. As a lich, Nargontou's essence would typically have returned to his phylactery, but in this instance, it did not. An investigation revealed that the infiltration had been a meticulously planned assassination, the thieves employing a magical device that prevented Nargontou's reformation.
The six rogues who perished within the catacombs were subsequently resurrected as wights. Designated as Nargontou's Wardens, they have been entrusted with the task of deterring trespassers from infiltrating the palace's catacombs.
