The exile of the Gehenna System, the nigh hag Thryunkian, assisted Graz'zt and Demogorgon in the murder of Orcus. Upon Orcus's rebirth as an Undead, minions were dispatched to pursue Thryunkian. She was spared by bargaining her true name to a mortal wizard named Flay. In exchange for insights on dark rituals and the true names of others, she was freed from Flay's captivity. Thryunkian established her new abode in the frigid fens of Ilorath.
Thryunkian aided Flay for almost four decades, perpetually seeking a means to be rid of him. A breakthrough emerged when she uncovered the mechanisms of Flay's Prismatic Cells at Tridrak. The most formidable entity liberated was a death slaad named Groggumblus. Collaboratively, the pair apprehended Flay and methodically dismantled him.
In the year 1280, Thryunkian gained control of the ancient ruin known as Urgalroth.
