In the waning years of the Yagamph Republic (746 - 956), a demon named Yack-Leban found himself summoned to the world of Bal-Kriav. Gnoll wizards of the Howling Wind, with aspirations of grandeur and power, accomplished this using an artifact known as the Book of Infernal Secrets.
A master of deception and disguise, Yack-Leban presented himself to his summoner as a weak and simple demon. He exhibited promising loyalty and adeptness at learning new skills, such as spell craft, along with an uncanny ability to devise deceptive plans for his masters. Over the course of 13 years, Yack-Leban earned the trust of numerous powerful shamans, Yagamph senators, and other influential figures. On a spring night in 951, Yack-Leban and his team of assassins set out to murder the Howling Wind, thereby severing the last vestiges of control over him. Ten of the fourteen mages were slain, with the survivors escaping by means of teleportation spells.
As the Lord of Kennel, Yack-Leban occasionally musters humanoid hordes to pillage and ravage the surrounding populace. The most fearsome of these armies are those commanded by death giant generals.
