Ankh of Phalgas

Category Magic Items
Type artifact
Alias Pyre Mug
Smith Phalgas
Enchanter Phalgas
Location Prism of Merioss

When the Satyr general Licuiluin, a zealous champion of righteousness, seized Drachlaz, slaying the final remnants of its venerable vampires, he and his troops consigned the undead to the flames in a towering inferno. They offered supplications to Phalgas, then indulged in a prodigious feast, consuming the contents of hundreds of casks and three score Kazzatar pigs.

When the initial beams of Merioss illuminated the smoldering embers, a glimmer emerged. The handful of alert and lucid individuals surveyed their surroundings, then observed their esteemed general stride into the ash heap and extract an unblemished mug. Though ornamental and modest compared to the accoutrements General Licuiluin typically carried, he opted to retain it.

Zarrek, of the Prism of Merioss - "The Pyre Mug"

The object known as the Pyre Mug was discovered on the final day of the First Merioss Crusade, which spanned the years (911 HE - 920 HE). This sacred relic of Phalgas is bequeathed to each new Radiant Master of the hallowed Radiant Cross order.

The Ankh of Phalgas is a powerful relic employed for life-prolonging, rejuvenation, and the destruction of undead. Forged by the deity Phalgas, to some it is a chalice, while to the peoples of Smizerak and Radiant Cross it is known as the Pyre Mug. In its truest manifestation, as when wielded by Naggor Stormhand, it assumes the shape of an ordinary-looking ankh.

In the Third Epoch, the champions of Golden Elite utilized the Ankh of Phalgas to restore the lands ravaged by the Black Tide. After the Athenian Crusade (1539 - 1551), the Ankh of Phalgas was secured within the Prism of Merioss.
