The Golden Elite is one of the most exceptional groups of heroes the realm has witnessed. During the Black Tide's reign over the Lands of Purity, a region ravaged by undead hordes, a band of aged veterans were mysteriously organized. Despite their advanced years and infirmities, they were selected for their principles of righteousness to once again take up arms against the oppressive evil in the realm. On one of their early adventures, they traveled to Viressur to break a powerful spell infecting the Sylvan Kingdoms. In the year 1533, they used the Ankh of Phalgas to cleanse the vast area and restore much of it to its former splendor. The same artifact also rejuvenated their vitality, transforming them from old men and women into young adults.
The Golden Elite then liberated the city of Elamir and assembled a substantial army from Viressur and Elamir, whereupon they assaulted the fortified position of Fell Post and the dwarven stronghold of Gûn. Katrana 's forces were decisively defeated, and the legendary Elder Orb of Embers was recovered from the dwarven holdings within Gûn.
In 1534, the Golden Elite voyaged to the Crillion Comet. During this expedition, the dwarf companion Sledge Smithereen was tragically lost on the derelict vessel when he encountered a sphere of annihilation. Aboard the enigmatic comet, they discovered a Rift Spanner, which they utilized to swiftly traverse the vast expanse of the Void between Bal-Kriav and Merioss. Aboard the Giff Platform Atlas Glory, they then fired the Elder Orb into Merioss, where it was subsequently destroyed.
In 1535, the Golden Elite and their army seized control of Atturgad (cf. Siege of Atturgad ).
In the year 1539, the valiant heroes of Golden Elite united their efforts with the virtuous armies amassing at the city of Iglutt.
The forces of good have filled every tavern, home, and alley of Iglutt, beyond the ancient dragon gates, the valley floor and into the mountains - a sea of tents, with elves, gnomes, halflings, dwarves, Tragarans, and others, likely apprehensive yet eager to reclaim the lands from the undead hordes of the Black Tide.
Himril, in his chronicle of the Athenian Crusade ( 1539 - 1551 ) , describes the essay "Merioss Rises Over Iglutt"
The Holy Quinary then marches into battle against the Black Tide of Thasmudyan in a monumental conflict known as the Athenian Crusade. Upon the war's conclusion, the Golden Elite directed their efforts towards nation-building and played a pivotal role in founding the nation of Malacost.
