The Elder Orb of Embers, or Zuwuth Uv Enkii in Draconic, was a dragon orb powered by a fragment of a celestial body. During the Black Tide War, this artifact was in the possession of the lich Katrana. In 1477, amidst the siege of Elamir, the orb was utilized in the creation of the fiery peaks of Armorn and Ireriel. The resulting earthquakes, thick smoke, and lava bombs played a pivotal role in the capture of Elamir.
Later in the Black Tide War, the orb was employed once more, tainting the Crown of Phlehorn.
In 1533, Katrana was expelled from Gûn. Her assailants, the Golden Elite, reclaimed the orb and set about rectifying the issues it had created. The enchantment upon Maharâg's transformed dwarves was lifted, returning them to their previous states. Ownership of the orb also enabled them to cool the region, terminating the volcanic eruptions of Armorn and Ireriel.
In 1534, the Golden Elite traveled to the Crillion Comet. Departing from the giff platform Atlas Glory, they spent days exploring this Lith-Crillion voidship. After obtaining their objective, a Rift Spanner, the Atlas Glory jumped across the Quarat'un system to its primary star. Once in position, they fired the Elder Orb of Embers like a cannonball, propelling it towards the fiery core of Merioss where it was consumed.
