Zarrek Lukko was a distinguished member of the Golden Elite. He held the prestigious position of commander within the Shields of Iraktharbhun and later ascended to the revered role of senator for Milithian.

He resides on the Isle of the Eternals and safeguards the venerable structures of the Arch-Mages of Merioss.

When the Golden Elite entered the fabled Pyramid of Life, Zarrek had a premonition of a great battle in the near future. He wondered if this would be a titanic struggle where the armies of good faced the villainous horde of butchers and undead harvesters carrying the grandiose title of Black Tide of Thasmudyan. A name that flattered the vanity of Thasmudyan, yet did not convey the true nature of the Black Tide, an empire built upon conquest and plunder, held together only by an insatiable thirst for greed. This theory, which I first proclaimed in the Year 1460, when I was little more than 20 years old, was scoffed at and whispered about with derision among the battle commanders of the Lances of Merioss. In later years, this theory proved true when the Black Tide was defeated in the Artery War (1546 - 1554).

Yet this was not the factual basis of my foreboding. A colossal conflict did transpire, but on a much more modest scale, we were merely insignificant participants in the grand machinations of the deities. In another momentous expedition of the Golden Elite, or perhaps more accurately the personal crusade of Galtrag, a narrative some designate as Embarked to Rescue the World, Yet Ended up Preserving Ourselves .

Deep within the Pyramid of Life, ensconced amidst the boundless dunes of the Sands of Hell, we encountered Queen Dras'ee and her insect guardian Crick. The skirmish with the lich's underlings was proceeding in our favor, and appeared to be secured, when the stalwart Crick leapt into the fray, assailing Galtrag with a flurry of masterful strikes, his blades of the finest arjale carving deep into the paladin.

My companion was outmatched, and there was little we could do. Himril engaged with a colossal undead beetle, while I faced the mighty magical energies of Queen Dras'ee. Our halfling friend was chased by a swarm of driders. Each one fell in succession. Death came swiftly for Galtrag, and Himril suffered the terrible fate of being disemboweled by the beetle. The most cruel fate befell the halfling, who suffered the loss of legs and arms, their agonizing cries still haunting me some nights. It was a horrific sight, and I have no doubt they perished, for I did not linger to witness my own demise in that accursed pyramid. A teleport contingency spell brought me to safety, returning me to my chambers at Thequas.

The lesson I impart to you is to exercise prudence when confronted with premonitions, for like the future, they are shrouded in enigma.
