Crick was trained to be an elite guardian of the Minâth. He was one of a few ancient clutches of eggs found deep within the Hive region. Prior to the discovery of these eggs, it was believed that the Auhtai had been eradicated by the Hive Swarms plaguing the southern territories of Karterus.
In the First Epoch, in the lands of Gulimbor, Crick was raised and bred for war by the Athirbêni military branch of the Khazarkar Empire. Within a military crèche, Crick demonstrated superior intelligence compared to his peers. Consequently, he was selected for a specialized assignment as a Minâth Protector for the Dras'ee family, a member of the Minâth-Nori. Crick was only seven years of age at the time.
Crick served as a Minâth Protector for Lenassu Dras'ee throughout his mortal life. He embarked on adventures with her and a party of adventurers known as Black Banner. During the Black Tide War ( 1465 - 1486 ) , they experienced a falling out. Dras'ee and Crick then journeyed north to Grashakh, where they constructed their labyrinth, the Spirit Crypt.
Crick extended his race's limited lifespan through magical concoctions. Upon Dras'ee's transformation into a lich on 17 Saunas 1515, Crick pursued a similar path, becoming a spellstitched vampire.
Crick remained at Dras'ee's side during the failed attempt to overthrow the Pharzîmrâth. This loyalty to Dras'ee superseded his duty as the Minâth Protector, as attacking the government was contrary to his role. Nevertheless, both Crick and Dras'ee survived Dras'ees War ( 1517 - 1519 ) . After their capture, they were sentenced to three centuries of imprisonment in Ink Hold. During this time, they rose to power, becoming the masters of Ink Hold and all its undead.
