Raised by a pair of Nermanean slaves, one a former banker and the other a bureaucrat, Cryanus was exceptionally well-educated. Displaying remarkable intelligence, keen awareness, and a talent for subtle manipulation, she led a squad by the age of 15. For a decade, she served in the guerrilla forces of western Ma'Ohari. In this largely lawless region, groups operated as bandits, petty satraps, and freedom fighters. Promoted to captain in her second year, Cryanus commanded such a unit, battling Ivory Asylum imperialism through raiding, ransom, mapping the interior, networking with key figures, and gathering intelligence on the cities of Salandirik and Tâchumâz.
At the age of 25, Cryanus abandoned the guerrilla lifestyle. She ventured into smuggling, channeling the profits into farmland for cultivating rice, sugarcane, and an array of fruits. Eight years later, the thriving success of her burgeoning sugar empire caught the attention of the Council of Nine. Summoned to a meeting, and subjected to a series of evaluations, Cryanus was offered the prestigious position of Syndic of Commerce. As a prerequisite for admittance to the Council of Nine, on 4 Witchrite 1456, Cryanus was transformed into a lich.
In 1466, Cryanus departed her position as Syndic of Commerce. She returned to her homeland, subsequently assuming the role of chief economic advisor to the Bloodtusk Regime. Though no longer affiliated with Paradomea's government, her economic strategies serve as evidence of the Council's dedication to the prosperity of Ma'Ohari's western ports.
Irrespective of the ruling authority, Paradomea's esteemed Council of Nine places mercantile interests above the tenets of morality. Salandirik and Raci-Tuc were thriving commercial hubs prior to the Black Tide War. The Council is adamant that this prosperous state of affairs not be jeopardized under Bloodtusk suzerainty.

In 1498, Cryanus was granted greater authority over the empire's administration, assuming the role of chief advisor to the Bloodtusk Regime. For three centuries, she oversaw the city of Salandirik and directed the financial affairs of the empire.
In the year 1798, Salandirik was conquered by the Burterinii-Buccaneer Alliance. The whereabouts of Cryanus remained unknown.
