Galtrag Phakawelgûn emerged from a lineage renowned for its paladins. Their acclaim, courage, and devotion had long served the Niratar Theocracy ( 339 - 1017 ) , either individually or in groups, strengthening distant border settlements and demonstrating their mettle and faith to themselves and their deity, Athena.
Galtrag matured during the tumultuous period of the Black Tide War ( 1465 - 1486 ) and the ensuing occupation. He participated in the war's final two years before sustaining grave injuries at the Siege of Vraga Moltus, leaving him with a subtle limp for many years prior to the significant transformation.
On 17 Temporal 1524, he established the Order of Solars.
In 1533, advanced in years, Galtrag and his elderly compatriots embarked on a mission to recover the Ankh of Phalgas. Styling themselves the Golden Elite, they succeeded in restoring the Galadriël Kingdom, reclaiming territories held by Katrana, and regaining their youthful vigor.
In the Athenian Crusade ( 1539 - 1551 ) , Galtrag participated in numerous confrontations against the Black Tide, vanquishing the dragon Apocaleen single-handedly. He demonstrated exceptional valor and superior generalship, leading many triumphant campaigns. The most notable was the Severed Neck Battle, a pivotal moment that marked the beginning of the decline of the Black Tide's dominance across the Lands of Purity.
On his final quest to unravel the Four Prophecies of the Pyramids , he perished at the hands of Crick. In this confrontation, the Golden Elite were almost entirely decimated by the united forces of Crick, Lenassu Dras'ee, and their underlings. Galtrag's final utterances now serve as a war chant for the holy legions of Malacost.
I have served with distinction and virtue throughout my life, and I shall continue to serve Athena in the afterlife.
In death, the story of Galtrag does not end, for in the Nawenglorûs system, he carries the banner of Athena, now possessing such formidable powers that former foes would be easily overcome. In times of great peril, Athena's high priests can summon the mighty spell "Lantern of Athena," which conjures the image of Galtrag riding a towering white warhorse, clad in the finest blutium full plate armor and wielding the mythical blade Manjular or the lance Soul Purifier. This awe-inspiring vision instills fanatical morale in the onlookers, and its other effects have on several occasions turned the tide of battle in favor of the forces of good.
