Crafted by the individual they are named after, and reportedly existing in only three specimens, the Torcs of Maen Grirngrim possess the dreadful power of absorbing the essence of the wearer upon their demise. Serving as a receptacle, this essence could then be utilized to resurrect the wearer at a later juncture by transporting their essence into a clone or magical device, imbuing it with sentience. Regrettably, over time, these items were abused, enabling the Torc wearer to leverage the knowledge and certain abilities of previous owners.

A Torc of Maen Grirngrim is crafted from a substance that fluctuates in and out of reality, akin to the material utilized in the Helas Vessels. The centerpiece of each torc is an orb containing a fragment of its creator. When Maen Grirngrim was slain by the Golden Seven, a portion of him was imbued into each of these torcs.

The Torc Wars were waged to claim possession of these three artifacts. The Horgon Confederacy ( 159 HE - 537 HE ) , established as a coalition by the torc owners, represented a collaborative approach to safeguarding the Saints of Maen.

With the assistance of their torcs, the final Saints of Maen, Krak-Oth, Neld-Rac, and Rioch Tetrax, ascended to become Highers Powers. Their torc disrupted the Asenscion, each was branded, drained of blood and vitality, two transformed into the undead and one became a Shade.
