Sondicar is an unnaturally formed lake of Morteban. Created during the Demon Spawn War (89 GE - 269 GE), it is the product of a rift's opening in Lake Nírië. This rift, the Nírië Whirlpool, channels water from Lake Nírië to the lake of Sondicar.

When the rift was opened, Sondicar was a tranquil valley. Garrisoning the region was an armed contingent under the dominion of Demogorgon. The surging floodwaters from the rift breached the demon's defenses, sweeping away those too sluggish to escape. Seizing the opportunity, the Covenant launched an assault, decimating the drowning army.

The rifts of Sondicar and Nírië remain open. The one at Sondicar is a fountain of water shooting hundreds of feet up from the lake surface. The volume of water flowing through this rift is largely dependent on the water level of Lake Nírië.
