Allof Stond was once a fiery lake, fueled by molten lava erupting from the Geingil Spigot. During the First Epoch, fire giants constructed a base in this region to guard and propagate the lava of Ofli Hrolmir, and indirectly facilitate the expansion of Surtur's Artery.
In the Allof Stond War, the fire giants of Megrlof suffered a devastating setback when they were severed from the lava river Ofli Hrolmir. The gradual cooling and hardening of the lava lake enabled the enemy's superior numbers to march across the obsidian and lava stone lake bed and assail Megrlof's fortifications. With the lava lake no longer providing defensive support, the stronghold's defenses were easily undermined, leading to the fall of Megrlof.
After the war, and throughout the remainder of the First Epoch, Allof Stond accumulated water, transforming into an Underdark lake.
