Grielfand is a dormant volcano of the Kimaris Peaks. During the First Epoch, the allied armies of Andrithiach and Hlothrabatta waged war against the fire giants of Megrlof. In this conflict, the use of magic and mining blocked a vital artery of the Ofli Hrolmir. Following this unnatural cave-in, the volcano's lava flow was cut off, rendering Grielfand dormant.

A lofty mountain towering 25,000 feet above the ocean's expanse, its subsurface side plunges into the profound depths of Fangath for nearly 6,000 feet. Its caldera spans an impressive three miles in breadth. For the majority of the time, Grielfand's upper slopes beyond 5,000 feet remain shrouded in mist. Whenever the volcano's gaping maw is not obscured by natural clouds, smoke and arcane energies are employed to conceal the caldera floor.

One area of the caldera floor is the shipyard Gúrkúm-Ghak. Timber and other components for constructing sky and voidships are transported to this shipyard via steam rails, beasts, and slaves. Heavy labor for unloading these materials is accomplished with the assistance of mammoths and stone giants.

The interior of Grielfand is intricately fortified, featuring an intricate network of passages, structures, and shipbuilding facilities. The vessels constructed here go on to bolster the ranks of the Cloud Guard or the Horns of the Void. As territory of the Ba'lith Empire, Grielfand is a restricted, military-controlled zone.
