In the Horgon Era, stone giants constructed a mead hall in this vicinity. The establishment grew in size as word spread of its fine libations, gambling, and lively atmosphere. The stone giants maintained order, rendering the area a neutral ground upon entering Grielfand's caldera. The mead hall was a modest affair, generating just enough revenue to preserve the peace and compensate its staff. The most captivating feature of the premises were its drinking tables, each fashioned from ancient, gnarled, and charred wood salvaged from a sunken vessel at the bottom of Lake Droorlow. This peculiar and enigmatic wood possessed the remarkable ability to slowly regenerate, even when severed from its source. To the mead hall's proprietors, it proved ideal for accommodating their often rambunctious clientele.
The submerged vessel was the Gholím. During the Demon Spawn War (89 GE - 269 GE), under the Six-Fingered Flag of Graz'zt, it patrolled the Ezdynn and Mern rivers.
When Ba'lith seized control of the region during the Third Epoch, the mead hall lay in a state of dilapidation. Beneath the debris, tables that had borne witness to centuries of spilled beverages were discovered largely unscathed. These tables were repurposed as dining hall furnishings for Ba'lith's newly established naval academy. The celebrated mead hall of the stone giants was memorialized, with the naval academy bearing the name Gholím's Deck.
