Writings in the Scrolls of Dawn state that during the Creation War, a primordial lord named Surtur was intent on manipulating Bal-Kriav's molten core. He and his worker legions guided a great river of magma, creating tributaries and directing it as they wished. One legend suggests that Surtur commanded the lava flow, or perhaps orchestrated it, from his blazing citadel of Svaer Hodgrolf.

Engineering Overview

This network represents the pinnacle of Creation War logistics. Surtur's worker legions did not merely discover these heat sources; they guided and engineered the molten core of Bal-Kriav into an industrial artery. The continued functionality of these canals serves as proof of the near-immortal materials used in their construction.
