The Arcana's Rip, named for its creator, is a vast subterranean chasm. Located in the region of Greroch, east of the Erochel Fungal, it plunges for five miles, traversing multiple subterranean tiers. Southwest of Gholompotl, the gash measures approximately four miles in width.
The Arcana's Rip has hindered east-west movement since the moment it was created. This occurred on 4 Brightstar 1946 DE, during the final stages of enchanting an exceptionally powerful magical rod. A portion of the surrounding region was consumed in the forging of what Arcana referred to as the Rod of Arcane Absolution.
Late in the Horgon Era, paths, ropes, and elevators were utilized near Gholompotl. At present, trade flows up and down Arcana's Rip on a consistent basis. For those with substantial means, there are aeries available for those seeking a more expeditious mode of travel. The paths carved into the cliffs of this region lead to numerous villages and towns, all of which serve as way-stations to the larger cities situated below.
