Founded during the Horgon Era, Gholompotl was an underwater settlement situated within the Nermanis Sea. Boasting a lengthy history of raiding and slaving, the Gholompotloans were despised and dreaded by the inhabitants of Maurkac and neighboring communities. The principal adversary of Gholompotl was the expansive empire of Âkhi, the larger seeking to place the smaller under centralized theocratic governance.
When the Nermanis Sea began receding, the city of Gholompotl was evacuated. The Kuo-toa, the ruling class of the city, led their subjects eastward, seizing control of Unvarith from the Âkhi.
In 1426, following eleven years of arduous excavation, the Khazarkar Empire declared Gholompotl as their inaugural subterranean possession. The fortified hold of Nirzanâth, originating from this extensive undertaking, is connected to Gholompotl through a network of ramps, stairs, and lifts.
