Arirmarg is the southern Dark Nature forest of Emeldimir Vale. During the Horgon Era, this forest formed the northwestern border of the Ak'mrîtun Empire. Renowned for its silver since the Dawn Era, the Ak'mrîtun sought the area's resources. By 1700 HE, silver had become a commodity in Binê Sadôr, with jewelers crafting ornate jewelry for the affluent, adorning vases, columns, and statues, eventually becoming part of the national currency.
While Ak'mrîtun's faraway capital was growing prosperous from wagons of silver, frontier thinking was evolving. Some were swayed to zoolatry, revering the equine over the god-emperor Krak-Oth. The Einglach say the conversion effort spanned decades, commencing with a simple statue of one's favored horse, then others seeking to outdo the previous. Subsequently, visits by gray and black unicorns, each stirring up trouble with their territorial disputes, arrived. Cognizant of the market price for their kind, they promised foals in exchange for alliances. These foals, intelligent and cunning like their wild counterparts, played their part in fostering a reverence for their species and other lesser equines, such as horses.
In the Year 43, incensed by Arirmarg's horse cultists, Krak-Oth cursed them. Most were transformed into a grotesque parody of their object of veneration, becoming centaur-like abominations driven to devastation. Designated the Jara after the first horse deified, they pillaged Ak'mrîtun's western frontier, then advanced towards the capital city of Binê Sadôr.
Today, similar to other sections of the Emeldimir Vale, Arirmarg is a locale that endures cyclical periods of severe blight and vibrant rejuvenation. It is also a domain of Dark Nature, home to malevolent fey, savage carnivorous flora, and sinister entities such as undead treants and twig blights.
