Falgar is a lush and verdant area in an otherwise barren and volcanic landscape. Within this verdant oasis lie expansive farmlands. Falgar is owned by the Harknori and leased to various fire giant merchant clans. Long ago, the giants, alongside a sizable slave force, constructed berms, canals, and other defensive measures to shield this region from the threat of incineration. Occasionally, a particularly intense eruption will scorch the area, but the resulting soil is left far more fertile for future harvests.

The desolate landscape surrounding Falgar is quite unusual, particularly given that giants and other local inhabitants did not traditionally engage in large-scale agricultural practices. During the rule of the Volgads in the north, their merchants transported produce, such as vegetables and fruits, from the northern regions into the central and southern parts of Borngring. The fire giants and other consumers came to depend on these goods, rendering them a staple commodity.

In the Lava Flood War (110 HE - 125 HE), the giants forcibly expelled the Volgads from Borngring. This disrupted all trade between Nithian merchants and the local populace. Consequently, the people of Borngring lost access to the fruits and vegetables they had previously enjoyed. The giants and others toiled for many years to cultivate the rich volcanic soil. Falgar proved to be the safest and most suitable region for farming. Over the course of two centuries, it expanded to encompass an area exceeding 1,000 square miles. The thriving agricultural output from Falgar fueled a trade boom, the rise of merchant houses and companies, as well as rivalries and jealousy. This envy emanates from the less fortunate denizens of the Hlimi Kingdoms, who covet Harknori's fertile farmlands.
