The Bullywug constructed Grol'vun as a shrine to the demon lord Aperoq. This barbaric site, encircled by the bones of thousands sacrificed on the path of Ascension, served as a war shrine for victorious tribal factions amid perpetual in-fighting and mistrust for centuries.
During the reign of Mir'piamauza (526 HE - 1612 HE), the worship of Aperoq was prohibited. The shrine of Grol'vun was demolished, and its bricks were utilized in the construction of fireplaces within a growing fortress. Though the Mir'piamauza retained the original name, they appeased the native population by allowing them to make offerings at a new shrine dedicated to the emerging deity known as Asmodeus.
In the First Epoch, as a demonstration of power, the dragon empire of Thashangriel reconstructed what had been a dilapidated structure since the collapse of Mir'piamauza. From the city of Grol'vun, they subdued the unsettled bullywug and menaced the territories of Tulukhan.
Abandoned by the commencement of the Second Epoch, Grol'vun has once more become a dilapidated structure. It has served as the domain of black dragons, Bullywug warlords, witches, vampires, and other malevolent entities.
